Sky Germany reports Bayern Munich have begun direct negotiations with Chelsea about signing France international Christopher Nkunku this summer.
In a report from The Independent, the player is said to have been open to a switch to Bayern Munich for quite some time, particularly after an agreement was achieved between the Bavarians and Nkunku as early as last January.
The Bavarian club sees Nkunku as a priority target, but will look elsewhere in the market if necessary. Chelsea, meanwhile, are trying to offload the 27-year-old and Bayern want him on a loan deal.
Bayern Munich's sporting director, Max Eberl, for his part, appreciates the technical flexibility of Nkunku who can perform as striker, playmaker and on the wings. While there is no final agreement between the two parties as of yet, it has advisedly started to put the wheels in motion towards getting a deal over the line.
